The Familiar Feeling of Autumn
The days are growing shorter now, and autumn has begun to make itself known—not only in the changing leaves, but in the familiar feeling that comes with them.
There is something deeply nostalgic about this season. Perhaps it is the earlier light through the windows, the return of well-worn sweaters, or the memory of school years and family traditions marked by the same crisp air. Autumn reminds us that time is passing, but it also invites us to slow down long enough to notice where we are.
This month, I hope you find a little time for something familiar: a neighborhood festival, an evening of live music, an open house, or simply a quiet walk beneath the changing trees.
Great Music. A Great Cause. One Memorable Night.
This Friday, Skinny White Legs takes the stage at the 16th Annual Spartan300 community charity event. My brother-in-law plays in the band with a longtime family friend and a group of amazing musicians.
The band brings an energetic mix of original music and select covers, shaped by a wide variety of rock influences. It should be a terrific night of live music—and an even better opportunity to support local students, families and school programs.
Tickets are required: $50 per person, including BBQ dinner, open bar, live music and silent auction. The organizer’s public event information does not state an age policy; contact Spartan300 directly if age eligibility affects your plans.

I am working with a buyer searching in the greater Manassas area for a home on at least three-quarters of an acre, with a garage and a basement or studio space suitable for drum practice.
If you own—or know of—a property that may fit, even if it is not yet on the market, I would be grateful for the introduction.

Plan AheadThe Fall Market Rewards Specificity
This is less a single “buyer’s market” or “seller’s market” than a property-by-property market.
More choice gives buyers room to compare, while homes that solve a specific lifestyle need can still stand apart. For sellers, precise pricing and thoughtful preparation matter. For buyers, a disciplined search—and a willingness to look beyond the obvious—can uncover the right opportunity.
